Best Historical Fiction Ever

I grew up in Ireland & this is the best historical fiction novel I ever read. I don't know know if you would love it as much, without strong Irish affiliation. I do know know that if I could have learned history via the story form created by this author I would have loved learning history!

The three sisters grew up during the Easter Rising in Dublin. Muriel, Grace and Nellie. Their world changed in 1916. When the war started across Europe the sisters got involved in fighting for their country's freedom.

Great story, not so great writing

Interesting history. Writing is pedestrian but the story is fascinating. Felt there was too much early life detail that didn't really add to understanding or feeling the outcomes of these remarkable women.
